Health Equity in the Workplace
Health inequities and employee wellness are closely connect. Businesses and employees must think about internal policies, practices, and environments that that create a culture of support and care for all employees. More resources on how to do this below.
“Being part of the 2020 mspWellness cohort provided an open, supportive space for creativity, discussion and connection during a year of uncertainty and change. Heading into the cohort, we had a clear vision for Wellbeing at ECMC Group, but little did we know that our strategies and programming would need to dramatically shift to meet the evolving needs of our employees and our business. COVID-19, racial injustices and national unrest brought forth the need for increased emotional Wellbeing efforts and space for our employees to reflect, be heard and engage in deep conversations. We quickly transitioned to online programming such as live fitness and meditation classes over Zoom, weekly “Wellbeing Live” sessions to share resources, education and create community and connection, and employee listening sessions to stand united against racism, injustices and violence. In addition, we implemented Employee Network Groups and solidified our company diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) statement.” – ECMC Group
